The test of your driving ability is known as the Practical Test .

At the beginning of the test you will be asked to sign a form confirming that you are insured to drive the car that you will be using on your test. This could be your own car or your instructors car.

After that, the examiner will check your licence, and then ask you to lead the way to your car. On the walk to the car he will explain what the test will involve and check your eyesight, and ask you two questions relating to your car and its care. These are known as the 'Show me/Tell me' questions .
